The Journey

From traditional naval systems to testing autonomous prototypes in real-world maritime environments.

Our Journey

Our founder’s extensive experience in traditional naval systems and systems integration laid the foundation for DEEPDOCK. However, the Ukrainian-Russian war revealed the urgent need for more agile, cost-effective, and scalable solutions, highlighting the limitations of conventional heavy systems. This conflict showed that small, autonomous vessels like the Magura V5, capable of swift, impactful operations, are the future of naval defense. With rapid development cycles and significantly lower costs, these vessels are transforming how missions are executed, offering both precision and flexibility in high-risk environments. At DEEPDOCK, we are harnessing these lessons to build AI-driven, autonomous fleets that integrate seamlessly with NATO's architecture. Our vision is to provide the next generation of naval power—fast, adaptable, and ready for the evolving global landscape.

DEEPDOCK’s prototypes, SARDINE, SHARK and HYDRA are now under development and will soon undergo rigorous testing in the waters surrounding the Greek islands. Designed with a hull built for stealth and durability, the prototypes will test their navigation capabilities and AI-driven threat detection as well as simple swarming formations in a complex real life maritime environment. This testing phase will focus on its ability to patrol and secure vital shipping lanes, where illegal fishing, piracy, and regional tensions pose constant challenges.

The Aegean Sea, with its narrow straits, high traffic, and varied coastal geography, offers the ideal conditions to test the prototype’s real-time decision-making, obstacle avoidance, and swarming capabilities. The swarm will operate autonomously, navigating through islands and reacting to simulated threats, such as fast-approaching vessels and hidden underwater dangers. The goal is to demonstrate its swarming potential by coordinating with a small fleet of drones to cover a wide area, while minimizing human intervention. This test will showcase the future of autonomous naval defense, proving that lightweight, agile vessels can provide a scalable solution to modern maritime challenges.
